Why does so much hair fall out when I wash it post-pregnancy?
I have a 4-month-old son and heard that once you'd given birth, some of your hair would molt like crazy, but I never experienced that. However, for the last couple of weeks when I have washed my hair, so much has fallen out that the plug hole has actually been blocked by it! Not a pretty sight when I take it all out after my shower! Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Would getting my hair cut or trimmed help at all?
its very very normal. During pregnancy some of your hormones were over active and thus there was a boost in your hair production. usually this results in beautiful mane during the nine months:) now that the hormones are trying to move back to their usual pace, you are experiencing your normal hairfall which was halt for a few months. because the hair fall was reduced earlier, the reactive balance makes more hair to fall and its horrible. i used to have hair on my pillow when my daughter was 5 months old..but the good news is that it is not going to last forever and by maintaining good diet, u can end up have beautiful hair at the end.
